Choosing an airplane.

As some of you know I have made an app for pilots and my flying needs have changed. At the moment I own a share of A Cessna 182 and a 172 that we thoroughly enjoy. Our needs have changed due to the launch of the app fly like a local for general aviation. For now the current aircraft will allow us to do fly inns within a few hundred miles if the weather allows. The reason for the search is time and the lack of it. With full time jobs and limited time off we find its difficult to attend many fly inns. We are getting closer to being able to do fly ins on a regular basis so we need our own aircraft. The club or shares we own keep our costs low but availability can be a problem.

The ideal airplane would be something comfortable that we can haul a lot of gear at 200 miles an hour and land in about 1900′. High wing airplanes seem to be much easier to get in and out of with a few exceptions. I have to admit we haven’t had much time in low wing aircraft. As with each aircraft there are tradeoffs. Our short list Includes the Cessna 210 and a Maue M-7 260 the 210 being the faster of the two.
