On Thursday, March 16 the WACO Historical Society presents its Aviation Lecture Series at the WACO Air Museum, 1865 South County Road 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the presentation at 7:00 PM.
Tim Gaffney, author of The Dayton Flight Factory, will be sharing content from his book as well as the role of the factory in the Aviation Heritage Area. The Dayton Flight Factory is a book about the Wright brothers with a focus on their accomplishments in Dayton, where they not only invented the airplane but created the aviation industry.
Timothy R. Gaffney is a writer and author who was born in Dayton in 1951 and has lived in the region most of his life. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University in 1974, he worked for the Piqua Daily Call, the Kettering Oakwood Times and the Dayton Daily News, where he was the aerospace and defense writer for twenty-one years, until his retirement in
2006. He is the author of fifteen books about aviation, space, exploration and science, mainly for children and young adults. He is director of communications for the nonprofit National Aviation
Heritage Alliance and a volunteer trustee of the United States Air and Trade Show Inc. He lives in Miamisburg, Ohio, with his wife, Jean. They have four grown children and two grandchildren. He is also a private pilot.

Parking and admission are free and open to the public. The lecture is scheduled to last one hour with a time for questions to follow. It will be held in the Willis Wing of the WACO Air Museum at 1865 South County Road 25A in Troy, OH. . Donations will be accepted to benefit the WACO Historical Society.
