NAPLES, Florida — Aero Electric Aircraft Corporation (AEAC), which is developing the “Sun Flyer” solar-electric training aircraft, and TC Aero Group, which offers maintenance, repair and overhaul with facilities in Florida and Minnesota, have launched a Sun Flyer sales and service center for the state of Florida. The operation, based in Naples, will be part of Prime Planes Aircraft Services, a TC Aero Group company.

“We could not have a better partner than TC Aero Group and Prime Planes in Naples to help us,” said George Bye, CEO of AEAC. “Over the next two years, as we prepare for the first production trainers to come off the line, the experience and expertise TC Aero Group brings will be critical to the success of the Sun Flyer and its early adopters.”

“Since we heard of and learned more about the Sun Flyer, we have been interested in not just being the first customer in Florida, but also we wanted to play an integral role in the delivery and support side for the Sun Flyer,” stated Bill Ahmann, Group President for TC Aero Group. “This new program further leverages the relationship with all our TC Aero Group companies, capitalizing on our depth of experience in providing maintenance services for general aviation aircraft. The relationship with Sun Flyer also creates additional distribution paths for deployment of support services and products for this unique aircraft — things such as aftermarket batteries and rapid chargers.”
