AOPA receives workplace wellness award

FREDERICK, Maryland — The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) received the Gold Level Wellness at Work Award from Van Mitchell, secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, at a ceremony held June 10.

According to AOPA officials, 42 Maryland businesses received awards, but only nine received the top-level Gold level award.

“AOPA is very proud of this achievement and we are committed to taking wellness to the next level by taking a holistic approach that includes more than just nutrition and exercise,” said AOPA President Mark Baker. “We try to help employees tackle many of the important issues they face in their daily lives like financial stress and community involvement, and we have found these efforts bring results.”
