The sixth edition of the Marvel of Flight – held April 22-23 at DeFuniak Springs Airport (54J) in Florida – attracted more than 5,000 attendees and 100 aircraft. Airport manager Ryan Adams shared a few images taken by Al Owen from the festivities.

Nine local Vietnam Veterans return from an Honor Flight – via a Water Salute – as they prepare to receive their long awaited and much deserved “Hero’s Welcome Home” from the crowd of over 5,000 spectators.
“Rescue at Dawn” reenactors preparing for a landing in hostile territory as history came alive at Marvel of Flight, compliments of the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation-Wiregrass Chapter and Emerald Coast Young Marines.

Local college professor and plein air painter Jan Faubel was one of a handful of artists who painted the day away, as onlookers strolled the flight line.
Six different regional EAA Chapters were represented at the Marvel of Flight.
