WingX Pro users have a new update to download and check out in the app store this week. This minor update aims to further refine the app with a few new enhancements, along with a some bug fixes to improve the user experience. Here’s an overview of what you’ll find new in the app the next time you go flying.
Regional download settings for sectionals and IFR enroute charts–you now have the option to download sectional and IFR enroute charts for a specific region of the US (Western, Central or Eastern), which will speed up download times and reduce the file size for those that don’t need charts for the entire US.
VFR Flyway Chart overlays–pilots flying in or around Class B airspace have a new navigation resource in WingX. You can now overlay VFR Flyway charts (the visual charts that are printed on the back of Terminal Area Charts) right on the moving map for additional routing options through busy airspace.
New aircraft images–the aircraft symbol options for representing your location on the map has been expanded to include the Cozy, B2, SR71 and Baron.
Improved Search and Rescue (SAR)–WingX improved the SAR Pattern and Grid colors displayed on the screen. The app also improved the parallel search, allowing users to enter a search track and WingX Pro does all the math to search along that search track.
WingX Pro is available in the app store for iPhone and iPad.
