One of my favorite activities is going to a fly in. every year you can find a few fly-ins at local airports around the state and country. This one is a fundraiser for the EAA chapter on the field, you just never know who or what will show up. We have decided to use personal YouTube channels to allow others to add content. If you have a channel and would like to contribute shoot an email to
Sunday was a slow day at the fly in but managed to capture some videos and a few pictures from the fly in. More to come as I work on editing the footage, I hope you enjoy the sound of that big radial engine.
One of my favorite things to do on a weekend or any day for really is to go to a fly in or airshow. Some of my favorites include EAA fly ins, EAA stands for experimental aircraft association and there are local chapters all over. I like the fly ins because there more family oriented since there free, one of the other reasons is because you see a lot of home built, older aircraft and small GA aircraft.
I attended an EAA fly in at Moraine Airpark (I73)with a pancake breakfast. I was impressed with the number of families that attended. The streets were full of cars as families arrived to have a look at all the planes parked on the field. There were a few who camped out and plenty who flew in for the two day event. This field also known as I73 is one of the older fields in Ohio and had one of the first sea plane bases in Ohio, the river next to the field is where the Wright brothers did there testing for sea planes. The docks that are long since gone were active till well into the 70’s.
