The Red Stewart field is a family friendly grass strip with a picnic table and small children’s playground. The people here are very friendly and unlike most small or county airports there open to new people coming and having a look. I have noticed that quite a few county and all the commercial airports there is a big fear of new or unknown people having a look around and especially taking photos. I don’t know if it is a fear of the FAA , homeland security or being the next government target.
I am uploading a gallery of some photos we were able to get on an outing at this field.
I attended an EAA fly in at Moraine Airpark (I73)with a pancake breakfast. I was impressed with the number of families that attended. The streets were full of cars as families arrived to have a look at all the planes parked on the field. There were a few who camped out and plenty who flew in for the two day event. This field also known as I73 is one of the older fields in Ohio and had one of the first sea plane bases in Ohio, the river next to the field is where the Wright brothers did there testing for sea planes. The docks that are long since gone were active till well into the 70’s.
