Flashpass adds support for Canada, Bahamas and CARICOM

All pilots flying across the U.S. border in either direction are required to file a report using eAPIS, which stands for Electronic Advance Passenger Information System, to notify U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) of the name and details of each person entering or leaving the country. eAPIS requires the pilot to send a manifest to CBP at least 60 minutes prior to departure.

As an alternative to filing these through the CBP eAPIS website, you can also use the FlashPass app for iPhone and iPad, which allows you to file passenger manifests right from your mobile device. FlashPass is a certified service provider by CBP and their mission is to make compliance as easy as possible while minimizing distractions. The app has time-saving features, including the ability to scan passports with your device’s camera for error-free data entry and it can save all crew/passenger data for quick submission in future manifests.

The most recent update builds on the U.S. and Mexico eAPIS filings and adds Canada, Bahamas and CARICOM (Caribbean Island) paperwork support:

  • Canadian Customs Paperwork: CanPass and General Declaration.
  • Bahamas Customs Paperwork: C7, C7a and Arrival Form
  • CARICOM eAPIS compliance

When Flashpass detects that your departure or arrival Country requires these forms, they are sent automatically in PDF format to your email address.

You can try out the service free for 30 days, and then either pay an annual membership of $60 for unlimited filings or pay as you go for $9.99 per manifest. Also, the developers of Flashpass are extending free unlimited use of the app to Pilots assisting with relief efforts in the Bahamas.
