Piper, the K-9 border collie that was well-known for his wildlife patrol antics, toothy smile, and oversized goggles, died Jan. 3. The 9-year-old canine at the Cherry Capital Airport in Michigan had built more than 1 million “likes” in the three years since handler and owner Brian Edwards posted their first social media update. He was celebrated by fans from across the globe.
